TERMS, RULES AND REGULATIONS

NB! BY paying for your participation fee you confirm, that you have read the terms, rules and regulations and you accept them. 

The participant is responsible for its own safety on the road during the event. It is obligatory to follow traffic regulations.  

The participant is responsible for its own health during the event. Organizing team is not responsible for participants’ health, personal belongings gone missing, breaking or whatever damage caused during the event including bikes and camping gear/personal belongings in transportation trucks.

Riding a bike while under influence of alcohol is a crime by the law therefore forbidden. It is forbidden to enter the camping area carrying alcohol also staying in the area while under the influence of alcohol.   

Camping site is restricted area and only participants who have payed the participation fee and have a wristband are allowed to enter the area.

Setting up a tent in the campsite is allowed only on the territory marked for that and choosing the best spot for you it is obligatory to follow the orders of team of security.

The accompanying vehicles for the participants on bicycles are not allowed to enter the camping area. Accompanying vehicles have to follow traffic regulations and orders of the team of security. Camping in the parking lot of the accompanying vehicles is forbidden.  

Organizing team and team of security are allowed to refuse letting participants who are not following the terms, rules and regulations of the trip on the campsite or send them out of the campsite without compensating the participation fee.

It is forbidden to bring in alcohol, guns and other dangerous objects and substances on the campsite.

Participants under 16 have to have an adult supervisor with them.

Essentials

Enjoy the trip and nature!

There is no hurry. We have put together interesting and varied cultural program which takes place on the route, so make stops, take part and enjoy! First one at the camping site does not get a prize.

Route and program

The route is marked by signs. Take a route map with you on the way and make notice form time to time where you are at on the map. The program full of concerts and other performances is put together in a way so that everyone could make it to take part (performances are held in several shift, so pay attention to the distances and timetable!)

There is also a cultural and entertainment program at camping sites. A lot of stopping spots have a dry toilet.

Camping site

Accommodation in tents at the camping site – tent and sleeping gear has to be brought with by participants themselves.

Setting up a tent in the campsite is allowed only on the territory marked for that and while choosing the best spot for you it is obligatory to follow the orders of team of security. Dry toilets and water for washing hands are guaranteed at the camping site. 

Camping site is restricted area and only participants who have payed the participation fee and have a wristband are allowed to enter the area. Participation fee needs to be payed for all the participants, also for those who participate without a bicycle. Please make notice that organizing team and security have a right to forbid or to escort out of the camping site those participants who are not following the terms, rules and regulations. It is forbidden to bring in alcohol, guns and other dangerous objects and substances on the campsite.

Participation fee guarantees breakfast and dinner. It is possible to buy hot meal during lunchtime from marked lunchbreak spots. Please be sure to have some cash with you because all merchants do not have a possibility to accept card payments.

Between 11 PM and 7 AM there are quiet hours at the campsite. If you see or hear something that might disturb quiet hours please let us know on our helpline or inform the security team.

NB! Making fire of any sort (campfire, grill, heating system in the tent) is forbidden besides one official camp fire which will be lit by the organizing team. 

Come by bike that is technically fixed!

Check your tires, clean and oil the chain and other moving parts, check that nothing is loose. Take a spare tire with you and a pump, just in case. Lock the bicycle during longer stops and also at the campsite.

Take suitable riding equipment on the route with you:

A helmet, a water bottle, rucksack with weatherproof clothing – warm jacket, waterproof coat or raincoat, sandwiches or other snacks.

Pack for the trip thoughtfully. Take a tent, warm sleeping bag, warm clothing, sleeping gear, hat (for warm and cold weather!) and gloves. Take also extra pair of boots and warm socks. Spring evenings are chilly!

Transportation trucks

Camping gear of the participants will be travelling with marked transportation trucks (from start to camping site, between camping sites and from last camp to ending point of the trip). Trucks will be opened evening time at 6 PM and closed morning time 9 AM.  

Please pack your things into waterproof and durable plastic bag and mark in so that you can recognize it later. Please be sure, in which transportation trucks your things are (remember the registration number)! Organizing team is not will not take responsibility of losing or damaging packed things.

Be reasonable and safe in traffic!

Roads we are using for the route are not closed for other people. Be sure to follow the rules and regulations of traffic! Use the right side of the road following one by one each other. Pay attention to other cyclists and pedestrians as well as drivers. Do not move on high speed, do not leave your friends alone. Wear a helmet, it protects you! If you are taking your children with then please make sure they are safe (if they are sitting in a bicycle chair then be sure that the chair is safely attached to your bike and make them wear a helmet too, also on little roads).

Help on the trip

On the route and at camp there are emergency tents and possibility to repair your bike. Necessary replacement parts for your bike you will have to pay for. Emergency help for your bike is for free. Helpline for the trip is +372 56 230 830 and is available 24 h. If your bike brakes down during the trip then after calling the helpline leave your bike on the roadside turn it upside down on the roadside. This way we will find you quicker. Do not hesitate to ask for medical help when needed, they will help you also at night-time. Medical emergency tents are marked with green cross on the white background. The same markers appear on the side of the cars which have medical personnel inside on the road. First aid is for free. When it happens on the road that it is not possible to continue to the next camp (bike has broke down, biker has broke down or too tired) then at the end of the day organizing team will get the bikers and the bikes to the camp site. When needed please call the helpline and explain what has happened.

Lost and found…

…things please hand over to the organizing team or to security. If something is missing please ask advice from organizing team. 

If you lose something and can not find it immediately please let us still know that it is missing on the address This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. – it often happens that things find their way to us after the trip.

NB! Lost and found items will be held in our property up to 1 month after the trip after that they travel to recycling.

Environment friendly event

At the trip we recycle. Packages, biodegradable garbage and regular garbage. Catering uses only biodegradable cutlery during the trip (bowls, plates, spoons, knives, forks and cups). Please put them always into biodegradable garbage bags with leftovers.

Drones

For safety reasons all and any use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) at starting, finishing, lunch and camp sites is strictly forbidden unless individual permission is given by the organizing staff!

Our event is nonalcoholic!

Entering the camping sites with alcohol is forbidden. Riding a bicycle while under the influence of alcohol is forbidden by law and you may be criminally punished, including revocation of your driving licence! Like you would not sit behind the car wheel while drinking alcohol you can not do this also holding bicycle handlebars.

History of the event

The annual bicycle trip started in 1988 as an impulse to historical “phosphorite war”. It is a unique environmental and entertainment oriented event that has proven its necessity during decades and has become a tradition without a lot of us can not imagine the spring. During times thousands of people at various age have participated, every time around 2000 on average. During the event we try to offer educational program mixed with culture, history and environment topics.  Also it is a possibility to test your physical stamina and listen to a lot of concerts. First and foremost it is a possibility to get to know different parts of Estonia.
